Lawn disease treatment in New Braunfels, TX
Before treating brown grass, determine whether disease is actually the cause.

Heat stress, irrigation problems, insects, root damage and turf disease can produce surprisingly similar patches. That is why our first question is not “which fungicide?” It is “what is actually causing the decline?”
We look at the grass type, the shape and location of the damage, recent weather, irrigation patterns, how quickly symptoms are spreading and what treatments the lawn has already received.
Different diseases behave differently
Large patch is a common disease of warm-season turf and is especially important in St. Augustine and Zoysia. It is favored by cooler, wet conditions and can become worse where turf stays excessively wet. Take-all root rot affects the root system and can sometimes be mistaken for large patch or chinch-bug damage. Those problems are managed differently, which makes diagnosis important before treatment.
Sometimes the answer is not a fungicide
If the pattern points toward irrigation stress, insects or another non-disease cause, treating for fungus would miss the actual problem. Likewise, disease pressure can be influenced by watering practices, drainage and fertility, so treatment may need to include changes in lawn care as well as a labeled disease-control product.
What helps us diagnose the problem
- Wide photos showing the overall pattern
- Close photos at the edge between healthy and damaged turf
- When the symptoms first appeared and how quickly they changed
- Your grass type, if known
- Recent watering, fertilizer, weed-control or pest treatments
- Whether the area stays shaded, damp or slow to dry
Some problems can be narrowed down from good photos and history. Others require an on-site look. If treatment is appropriate, we explain what we are targeting and what follow-up may be needed rather than promising that every brown patch has the same fix.
