Fertilization designed for Central Texas lawns

Fertilizer should support the grass you actually have, not force the same growth response on every property. Bermuda, St. Augustine and Zoysia differ in nutrient demand, shade tolerance and seasonal growth. We consider turf type, current condition, irrigation, time of year and recent treatments before recommending a fertilization approach.

For warm-season turf, timing matters. Nitrogen is most useful when the lawn is actively growing and able to use it. Too much fertilizer at the wrong time can create excessive growth without solving the underlying problem.

What our lawn program is built around

  • Seasonally appropriate nutrition rather than the same fertilizer at every visit
  • Humic acid, sea kelp extract, horticultural molasses and micronutrients used as soil- and plant-supporting inputs
  • Pre-emergent and post-emergent weed control scheduled according to the season and turf conditions
  • Seasonal disease and insect protection when included in the lawn program

The exact materials used can vary by season, turf type and lawn condition. All fertilizer and control products are applied according to their labels.

Bermuda, St. Augustine and Zoysia do not need identical care

Bermudagrass

Bermuda is vigorous in full sun and can respond strongly to nitrogen during active growth. The goal is controlled, healthy growth—not simply pushing the lawn darker and faster.

St. Augustinegrass

St. Augustine can have different fertility needs, especially in shaded areas. Excessive nitrogen can create unnecessary growth and may increase disease pressure, so the lawn’s site conditions matter.

Zoysiagrass

Zoysia is dense and generally grows more slowly than Bermuda. Fertility should support color and recovery without encouraging excessive thatch or growth.

Fertilization works best as part of a complete lawn program

A healthy lawn is not built with fertilizer alone. Weed prevention, weed control, irrigation, mowing practices, soil conditions, insects and disease can all affect turf performance. Our recurring lawn program combines seasonal fertilization with the other treatments your lawn needs during the year.
